Ousainou and Assan

Ousainou and Assan

A saving account was opened and D25,000 donated in the account to help build a better future for Ousainou and Assan who recently lost their mother through childbirth!
Many other baby items including baby cots and wardrobe were purchased to support the family on their journey!
Since last week Join Hands 2 Save A Baby have worked closely with family members of these little angels, Ousainou and Assan.
A couple Mark and Jacque who are UK Jamaican citizens have offered to sponsor Ousainou and Assan to a university level via Join Hands. They have also donated £200 and are in the process of purchasing baby items and shipping them to the babies who deserve the best.
Also thanks to May Barrow for her donation of £100 to support this initiative. I know you don’t want me to mention this publicly but no one hides taranga. Sorry my girl.
Please if you would like to support Ousainou and Assan to have the good life they deserve you can make a payment into their own savings account. You can find details of the account indicated on the pictures above. Any money paid into this account can only be withdrawn when they turn 18 years of age.
If you would prefer to send your donation in the UK here, please you can contact Adama and Awa Owens on 07539258111 or 07535688004 and their account details are Awa Owens Ceesay account no 03106578 sc 20 50 82 Barclays Bank.

Blood Bank

Our Current Project Launched 24th October 2020

Gambia Maternal Blood Bank is a project set to contribute and complement the efforts of The Ministry Of Health and all citizens in the fight against preventable deaths of our across the maternity units. The launching cost nearly D200, 000

Research has indicated that likely cost per Maternal Blood Bank station will be approximately £10,000.

Depending on the funding gain, we aim to establish Maternal Blood Bank service stations within the six regions across the country. We aim to establish a Maternal Blood Bank in every region in The Gambia ensuring the availability of safe blood transfusion services for use in emergency life saving situations across all maternity units.
The beneficiaries to this project would be our pregnant women, new mothers and babies. Also this project aims to develop an empowering and safe working environment so that our health professionals feel supported by the nation to help them to do their best and to save lives.
Please, we are urging all citizens and charities that are currently doing everything they can to help save the lives of our sisters and babies across the maternity units.
The improvement of our health care system in the Gambia can only be achieved through collaboration and team work with every single citizen. As we always say ‘together we can’.
We take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the Ministry Of Health for welcoming the Maternity Blood Bank Project without hesitating. We are looking forward to working all.
